WHAT KIND OF MATERIAL WORKS BEST FOR PAINTED SHOES?
I can paint on about anything!  Leather and canvas are best of course, but I have had
success on non-leather shoes.

How does the paint adhere and not come off the shoe?
I prepare the leather (special secret process!) to get it ready to accept the paint.  The paint
actually penetrates the leather for a long lasting, wearable piece of art for your feet.

Are they sealed?
An acrylic sealer is applied to all shoes.   It's probably overkill as some of my personal ones
have never been sealed and still wear beautifully, but I'd rather be safe than sorry!  It's really
more of a scuff protection.

What if my Art Shoes get wet?
Not a problem!  Artist acrylics are used which result in a durable, waterproof finish. On top of
that I apply an acrylic leather sealer.  I wouldn't recommend traipsing through puddles in
them, but then I wouldn't recommend it for any leather shoe!

How do I clean them?
If necessary, use a damp soft cloth to clean the hand painted artwork and treat the rest of
the shoe as you would any quality leather. I think you'll find the art wears better than the rest
of the shoe!

What style of shoes are best for painting?
About any style works as you can see from the varying shoes on the site. The shoe's style,
shape and lines, along with owner preferences, help determine the design.

Do you paint men's shoes?
Definitely!  Why shouldn't men have some fun shoes in their wardrobe as well!  Be sure to see
Steve's Shoes!

How long does it take?
Normally I run about 2 - 4 weeks out.  Once you place an order I put your shoes on the painting
schedule and wait for their arrival.  In the meantime there is a lot of communications
regarding design, placement of art, etc.  So when it's time for your shoes on the schedule - I'm
ready to paint!  Return shipping usually takes about 3-4 days.

Do I have to buy new shoes for painting?
Absolutely not!  Surely everyone has a pair or two in their closet that they love, but probably
don't wear much.  This is the perfect opportunity to recycle them into your favorite painted
shoes!  They should be in fairly decent condition and they'll work just fine!
